The Gun Blog is BACK!!!

The Sig Sauer P938

Sometimes I struggle to choose what gun to write about for the gun of the week. There are so many great guns to write about. The Colt Python, The Winchester Model 70, The German Mauser k98 just to name a few. There are thousands and thousands of great weapons to choose from.

This weeks choice came to me as I got ready for bed. I removed my Sig Sauer P938 from its holster and placed it on the night stand. The Sig replaced my Colt Government model as my pocket carry gun in 2013. It was the first gun that met my wishes of being compact and 1911 style in 9mm Luger. My full size carry gun is a Colt 1911 Officer .45 ACP. I wanted a pocket gun that had the same basic controls as the old .45 and could be carried cocked and locked. The little Sig has met the task wonderfully. It shoots straight, handles well and carries excellent in my shorts.

The P938 is a subcompact single action pistol. It was introduced in 2011 at the Shot Show. The little gun has an overall length of 5.9 inches and weight 16 ounces. The little Sig has an alloy frame and a Stainless Steel slide. The standard magazine holds 6 where the finger extension version gives you 7 rounds. It can be had in a multitude of colors and grip choices.

Classic guns like these can be found at Gun Trader Gun Shows. Our next show will be held in Ocala at the Livestock Pavilion July 24, 25 2021. The address is 2232 NE Jacksonville Road Ocala, Fl 34470. I can be reached at (352) 359-0134. I hope to see everyone there. Until then be safe everybody.
